So, before I go any further I'd like to add that I am a  "liberal Republican". I do not like Bush and I agree with some Democratic platforms, but I believe in a small government thus the Republican bit.

Now.

Check out (if you're bored) www.bwog.net and go down to any of the posts that involve the Minutemen. The founder of the Minutemen came to speak at Columbia yesterday but was prevented from doing so by protesters who rushed onto the stage. Several protesters, unsurprisingly, were minorities like Asians and Latinos. I didn't go. Everything ended up being a huge mess with lots of people mad at other people and I think everyone is at fault for this. But I didn't really care because this was an issue that I didn't know a lot about and quite honestly I had a lot of homework to do.

However.

I am EXTREMELY pissed that not only are my friends receiving death threats, but me and friends that weren't even at the protest are receiving threatening emails from proponents of "White America". My comments are in parantheses and bolded.

Hey gook (asshole):

The good folks at VDARE.com are reporting on the stunt you and your comrades pulled at Columbia (I didn't go). Your tactics have been duly noted.

Thanks in large part to patriots such as the Minutemen, White America is waking up. White America is waking up to the fact that the Third World is waging war against the West (The Third World is still trying to find stable governments for itself). That's what makes the Minutemen so "dangerous." You and your comrades are scared shitless that Whites are on to you (what did we do?)!

As recent events have shown, we are in a war of civilizations in which the white man is targeted and made to submit to the demographic power of Latin America, Africa, India, and Asia (really?). White people are being transformed into a global slave class, the fruits of whose labor and genius go to the lazy, indigent, and angry hordes in the Third World. (and we don't have lazy, indigent, and angry hordes in the US?)

It's time for White Americans to fight back. By any means necessary. And we can start by targeting invaders from the Third World and their militant allies (why all this hate against Third World). Non-white parasites and anti-white bigots have no right or place in the US. They must leave. They will leave. (what happened to a nation of immigrants)

You must understand, European-Americans discovered (I was always under the impression that Native Americans were here first, but thanks to European-Americans were forced off their own lands and eventually onto reservations where their culture is unfortunately, dying out), founded, developed, paid for (I can prove to you I am paying for this country, with my tax forms), fought and died for, America. This is OUR country, and we're going to make sure it's still here for our children and our grandchildren. And that's a promise.

The struggle to liberate White America from the shackles of mass non-white immigration, racial oppression, multiculturalism, and terrorism is only just starting.

Just as non-whites waged a liberation war against white settlers throughout Asia and Africa in the 20th century, White Americans must wage a similar liberation war against non-white settlers currently infecting (or infusing, I guess it depends on your point of view) our communities.

See you on the battlefield, you slant-eyed fuckwit. (Well, that made it pretty specific this email was directed towards Asians)

Regards,

So I deleted the name because it's worthless to try to look the guy up on Google. I know I shouldn't be wasting my time on shit like this but it pisses me off so much when no one seems to be able to sit down, listen to each other, and attempt to understand or at least respect each other.

So it's currently 2AM which means in 3 hours I need to be awake so that I may be able to get to the campus by 7AM. Or, according to my parents, we might leave at 8:30. Unfortunately, since 5AM and 8:30AM have a large interval of time inbetween them, that means I still need to wake up at 5AM to see if anyone wants to leave at that time. Joy.

I wanted to just post to say see you later. This summer has gone by too fast, and I regret not being able to do some things. But I don't regret my friends or my boyfriend who I will luckily see in a couple days because we're only a couple (90) blocks apart.

In any case, good luck to everyone, and enjoy.

It's been awhile...

Anyways, I've recently become attached to The Princess Bride. Pretty cute movie.

Apparently I'm not that bad in physics as I thought, because I got an A on the final and got an A- for the marking period, even though I failed a bunch of tests.

I'm working at Gadzooks now. Yay for money.

56 Days until Columbia. wooo

- Who are you?
- No one of great consequence
- Really, I must know
- Get used to disappointment

So, Friday and Saturday was "Days on Campus" for Columbia SEAS... good times, good times. A basic overview, if you'd like to read...

So during the incredibly boring walking tour of Morningside Heights (we're all engineers, did the tour guide really expect us to know who designed all of the parks in that area?.... it was olmstead btw) I met Chris Chen (say it five times fast and you'll understand why I giggled the first time I heard it) and Kelly. Then after the tour we went to John Jay to eat, along with 2 of Kelly's schoolmates, Dave and Will.

After not eating at John Jay (horrible, icky, now I understand why I must choose the meal plan with the last amount of meals) we all went to Starbucks where Chris was convinced that an iced coffee would be perfect for the warm weather (bear in mind this is NYC at 7PM). Once he realized he was wrong, we made fun of him =D

Then I met my student host who was japanese!! PLUS she was a junior and they ran out of rooms to place students in, so I was placed in a soph/junior/senior dorm. Cool. Plus it was a double and she said she was going to sleep in her boyfriend's room (uh huh...) so I had a lovely double room all to myself. =D Perfect.

After that, the nighttime activities were to begin. One of the other students in Dave's group, Spence(r) joined us and we decided to ditch the activities and explore NYC firsthand. Funnn.

We got off the subway at Times Square (where else to start exploring NYC?) and walked around a bit to till we got to a laser park, where Will and Dave wowed us with their DDR skills (who knew that a white guy could DDR?). Later we walked to Rockefeller Center and decided to go "On Top of the Rock".... which cost $20, but hell, what else were we going to do? It was very beautiful, I'll upload some pictures later... Also very cold, AND Chris, Spence, and I got yelled at several times by the security guard cuz we kept on standing in the doorways (which were heated). Whatever dude, that guy had five layers on he wouldn't understand...

Back at Columbia, we decided that we weren't done having fun and went to a couple parties in Carman which were kind of stupid and small, and then went to a frat party. So....... yeeeeeeeeah.

Spence and I tried to get Dave to walk around the campus (at 3 in the morning) so that he might feel better... I think it got him to walk straight, but that's just about it. Actually, he was able to find the owl in the Alma Mater statue, which was impressive since he wasn't himself.

Saturday morning, Cindy called and I apologize Cindy but I wasn't feeling entirely coherent... yea... =D

So, more boring lectures, tours of John Jay and Hartley, add more boring lectures, and then good food at the Faculty House, watching a Tae Kwan Do tourney, and more wandering around aimlessly (o yea, and watching Ghostface which was kind of weird).

That was basically my weekend. Now I must go finish The Secret Sharer... boooooo
